There have been a few flurries this past week – in April – and if you live in Montreal, you know exactly what that felt like. But there has also been a flurry *cough* of activity around the shop, too! Emeline & I had a great little sit down today to discuss what’s coming in May i.e. our first free sew & craft night, Mother’s Day…oh, and Emeline’s baby! So we thought that it was time to set up a few fun giveaways for all our potential sewers and lovers of crafting (hey, it’s been a week and a bit right?)
So, we have three prizes lined up for three lucky people:
- One 3-hour sew workshop of your choice for you & someone you love
- Two meters worth of fabric from our designer quilting cottons (and you can choose more than one!) to start you off on your next project;
- And to make sure we can include everybody – we have a prize for the out-of-town participants, where we’ll send you a crafty little package with an Amy Butler pattern and an issue of Uppercase magazine
In order to enter the contest giveaway, you have to do one of the following:
- Follow us @sewlounge and retweet our contest giveaway tweet!
- Or become a fan of Emeline & Annabelle on Facebook
Please make sure to leave a comment below to let us know that you participated and specify if you live in Montreal!
We’d also love to hear what kind of projects you’d like to make – so feel free to add your suggestions in your comments, too.
The contest starts today April 28th, 2010 and runs until midnight (EST) of May 6th, 2010. The selection of the participants will be made via random number generator – to ensure that everyone gets a fair chance. We’ll announce the three winners here on our blog, on May 7th. Good luck & stay tuned!

/ April 28, 2010Montreal born and bred, I look forward to getting some help in boning up my decidedly rusty sewing skills. I look forward to making something for my daughter and eventually, something for my son – why are boy’s clothes so much more complicated than girls?
Your shop rocks! I can’t wait to get my hands on some of your beautiful fabric, with or without the contest (I will repost though…)
Good luck, and keep on sewing.
Hugs,
Kathleen

/ April 29, 2010Oh boy! This is one of the many reasons I’m so happy I moved to Montreal! You have created such a fabulous and inspiring workspace! I’ve been working on small easy-to-finish projects for my daughter. My next goal is to make somethings to brighten up my kitchen: perhaps a table runner, some place mats, and matching accented dish towels?

/ April 29, 2010I am loving this blog and am living vicariously through your shop. More pictures!! Of everything!! Oh, i did want to ask you guys something… any idea where to find *cool* patterns for the 10 – 14 yr old demographic? Great stuff for little kids is easy enough to come by, but the other day Lucy asked if she could try making something on my sewing machine. We are going to have a look at the patters in our local material place this weekend, but as there is no one who frequents the Spinning Wheel who is under 65, i am not holding out much hope of finding a something that will really get her excited. So… if you happen to come across anything interesting I would love to hear about it.
Great work guys!!!!

/ May 5, 2010Hello ladies! Am now officially a “facebook fan”
I loved my 1st class – sewing basics. I’ve managed to adjust my sewing machine & am making a 2nd bag all on my own. Yay!
But your machines are 100 times better than my old one and make sewing all the more enjoyable.
See you tomorrow night for part two of the a-line skirt making!
Jessica
