Introducing the boys to the Orange Julep- or as they call it, the Giant Orange. They were slightly disappointed when they realized that the Giant Orange didn’t squirt juice at them while they ate. They quickly got over that when they ate their hot dogs.- What-Not-To-Wearing-Myself (yes, that IS a verb) which is harder than it sounds
- Making three piles of clothing: keep, give, mend/fix/transform
- Parting with 8 pairs pant, trimming my wardrobe to a sensible 6 pairs: 1 skinny jean blue, 1 skinny jean black, 1 fat day blue jean, 1 khaki, 1 silk statement pant, 1 crazy harem green pant
- Spending a lovely day at the Parc National Yamaska, where you can swim AND bike (except for when your tire is flat and you have to track back 10K with a baby in the bike seat and a 35 degree sun in the sky).
- Saying farewell to the menfolk of my clan- they left for a boy only camping trip, while Pia and I party it up, girl style. Read, throwing out tee shirts and stuff in the house that I hate.
- Feeling disgusted by the US win in Chick Soccer and subsequently feeling like I need a well deserved break from the Olympics -to be taken after tomorrow’s post!
- Stopping by The Bay for some much needed sheets and linens, but pit stopping by a ridiculously crazy shoe sale. Purchasing 3 pairs of shoes for $120, promptly returning them when faced with the prices of fitted sheets. REALLY Ralph Laren, $140 for a queen size fitted? REALLY?
- Needing some book recommendations (read, not Hunger Games, not 50 Shades of Grey). Go.
- Recovering from a week filled with Gastro and craziness. Feeling grateful for my health, even more grateful for my official 30lb weight loss- go figure, all I ever needed was a bit of exercise and something called “moderation”. Hmmmm.

/ August 7, 2012I recently bought a ton of books to take on vacation with me and ended up only reading a book on Florida beaches and sharks that I found on the bookshelf of the VRBO that we rented. So now I hope to get to them: The Night Circus, The Winter Palace (half way through and enjoying), The Cat’s Table, Where Angels Fear to Tread (an oldie but a goody).
BTW go to Home Sense for sheets, there are nice sheets and great deals.
