{Annette Funicello: Mousekeeter}{Far Side: School for the Gifted}{Bianca Jagger: 30 @Studio54}
I was alluding to BIG things last week… well this is a snippet of it!
To keep things fun around here we’d like you to suggest a NAMEĀ for our newest product. We’re handing the creative control over to you!
Think FabricVille Card meets invitation to The Oscars. Think about hosting the Mickey Mouse Club at Studio 54. Think about not thinking about that.
Can you see it?
Part membership card, part Girl Guide patch, plus a love for all things crafty, the E&A exclusive card will give you access to the following:
- Free Access to Sew By Hour time ALL YEAR
- 15% off everything in store- fabric, notions, books, patterns…. you name it!
- 15% off Sew Clinic Cards
- 15% off Workshop Registration
- Access to all MQG events
- Invitation to special events
- Preferential rates for promotions
Price: $49.95/year
So we thought we would throw it out to you: if you wanted to be a member with access to these things, what name would make you feel proud to be a member? Think of other elite groups… are we Members of the Academy? Should we all don our Mouseketeer hats? Do we just have to say “Mensa” to understand we’re a genius? Or do we need to stick a few bouncers at our front door and DECIDE who can get in to sew? (We are not doing that).
I’m thinking “E & A Privilege Card”; Stephanie is gung-ho for “The Seam Rippers”; Annabelle drew a complete blank, but suggested a handshake… which… no.
Leave your answer in the comments below. The Top 5 entries will be put to a vote next week on the blog. The winner of that vote will get the card! Entries for this contest are unlimited, so brainstorm away :) The first part of the contest will close on Wednesday, June 22nd, 2011 at 5 p.m. EST. (Voting will begin bright & early on Thursday.)
So let’s start you off: “The Emeline & Annabelle Member Card should be called….”

/ June 17, 2011I have nothing to contribute except to say i’m not a fan of the play on word ideas. Em’s idea is nice, simple, conveys the idea perfectly and is bilingual – the downside is it is not terribly original.
I think i thought up something last night..along the lines of a “key” or “passepartout” that would grant you access to a plethora of sewing wonders…
In any event, i think this a great idea!
Jess W
/ June 17, 2011I’m stuck on the acronyms.
EASY = Emeline & Annabelle Sew Yes! card. AKA Club EASY!
EARN = E & A Regulars’ Network. or E & A Really Neat card.
EASE = E & A Sew Exclusive card. Club EASE.
I think I’d still like to be an EARL of E & A best ;)

/ June 21, 2011I think the idea of a “guild” card is nice. It implies a privileged group of manual workers, has a nice historical significance and translates easily into French.
cinzia allocca
/ June 22, 2011How about the “Atelier de Couture” card. Or “Couture Studio” card.
