I know, I know. I’ve posted this on Twitter and Instagram. My new favorite hangout! Have I mentioned it – only a million times? Well, I’ll talk about it some more, because it’s my post and I’ll be repetitive if I feel like it!
Seriously though, this “salad” has saved me through this disgusting heat wave. What can you eat when it’s 46 degrees? Ice?
I cooked up a batch of quinoa pre-heat wave, somehow having the foresight that I wouldn’t want to cook anything in the coming days. Plus there was that gastro fiasco (that kinda rhymes). Anyhoo, cooked quinoa, some frozen peas, basil chiffonade (fancy way to say chopped up basil), some pearls of mozzarella and salt/pepper/olive oil to taste and you’re DONE! Easy, healthy and fancy to bring to a BBQ.
SPOILER ALERT: We’ll be closed on Sunday. You’ll be ok. Don’t worry. You can get your sewing fix on Saturday, all day! Our Camp Couture starts on Tuesday, meaning that clinic appointments will starts at 2h30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays until the end of August.
Yesterday was Mateo’s last class of kindergarten. His teacher organized an amazing little play- she painted and sewed up the sets. This is our first child going through school and Madame Isabelle has set a seriously high standard for us. She’s been so loving and encouraging and you can just tell how much the kids love her. I wish she could be our teacher for the next 6 years. Farewell Madame Isabelle, little Mateo will never forget you.
In other news, sewing is D2M. Help me E&Aers… how do you remedy a loss of sewing enthusiasm?! I just want to start new projects, but don’t really want to do all the work involved?
Apart from that, have a great long weekend! It’s cool and refreshing in here, a good way to hide from that heat!
Wish us luck for the upcoming week of Camp Couture and bear with us if things slow down a bit on the blog and the social media front- kids have a funny way of doing that!

/ June 22, 2012Start something easy. Something different. Take up a hand stitching project. Or perhaps just wait until the fall to start a new project.

/ June 22, 2012Instagram wins for me over Facebook. Love it! I just had cold quinoa last night – but it was plain. Like your idea. It is so much tastier than cold rice. And that is one special teacher Mateo had. As for sewing projects, why not team up with someone to do your ‘dirty work.’ did you start your picnic blanket? I would love to make one – I’ll do the cutting ?
